Charlie Leroy Vaughn

      Charlie Leroy Vaughn was born September 14, 1913, in Oak Flat, Rusk County, Texas. Charlie was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, a former president of the Rusk County Singing Convention, and longtime member and deacon of Smyrna Baptist Church. Survivors included his wife, Adelaide Vaughn; daughter, Diane Gholson; sons, Thomas Vaughn and Robert Vaughn; and sister, Susan Delaine Milstead. He died in 2007 at the age of 94 and was buried with military honors.
