At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in February 1802 after prayer to Almighty God Proceded to business as follows.

Recd. Tompsons Vilett 1, Pugh Price Junr. 2, Dudleys Daphney 3, Elisabeih Power Senr. 4, Elisabeth Power Junr. 5, Dudleys Stephen 6, Alexander Stubblefield 7 for Baptism.

Recd. by letter James Bristo & Jane his Wife, and Willis Clarkson. A Complaint was made before the Church against Parkers Billey by Bro. Jeptha Dudley for Drunkenness & fighting which was proven and he not giving Satisfaction for the Same is Excluded from our Union.

A complaint was laid before the Church by Bro. Asa Tompson against Tandeys Letty for Stealing from her Mistress which she confest and Condemn'd the act, on her confessing her fault and appearance of re­pentance she is continued in fellowship with a reproof.

Agreed that Bren. Leonard Young and Asa Tompson be appointed to Enquire into a Certain Instrument of writing left it is said by Bro. John Owins wherein his property is Conveyed by Mortgage and report to our Next Meeting. Then Dismist.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in March 1802 after prayer to God for his divine blessing proceded to business as follows.

Bren. Leonard Young & Asa Tompson reported they had made Enquiry and had found a certain Instrument of writing whereby Bro. John Owins had made over his property to a Certain young woman and they produced a coppy of Sd. Instrument, but Bro. Owin not being present this business is referr'd to next meeting.

Bro. Asa Tompsons Rose was accused before the Church of disobedience, Stealing & falshood, she confessing her faults with the appearance of

repentance is continued in fellowship on being reproved before all.

Recd. Boswells Selah 1, B. Chinns Bettey 2, for Baptism.

In consequence of a letter from the Church at Silas our Clerk is directed to send them a coppy of the charges against C. Smiths Delpha for which she was Excluded and leave them to act at discretion. Then Dismist.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in April 1802 after prayer to Almighty God for his divine blessing proceded to business as follows.

On a complaint made against Bro. John Owins for conveying his Property by a mortgage to a certain young woman and privately leaving the County and State to the Injury of his Just Creditors and he not yet having return'd to give Satisfaction to his Creditors. The Church are of Opinion that he be Excluded from our Communion.

Recd. Lincfield Sharp, Elisabeth Sharp, Richard Sharp and Jane Sharp by letter and Shelahs Mary 1, Hodges's Mourning 2, for Baptism.

Agreed that we have the Lords Supper administer'd once in every Three months. On a motion made, agreed that at our meeting in July we fall on some plan to make Enquiry among ourselves concerning our keeping up the Worship of God in our Families &c. Then Adjourn'd.

Recd. Nicholas's Harry 1, Abel Headington 2, Rachel Brice 3, for Baptism. Our Clerk is directed to give a letter of Dismission to Sister Ann Dudley. Bren. Ambrose Dudley & John Mason are appointed to write a Letter for this Church to our Next Association for Inspection at our next meeting. Then adjourn'd.

At a Church meeting Call'd and held for Dicipline at the meeting house at Bryans on the 24th of June 1802 after prayer to God for his Blessing proceded to business as follows.

A complaint was laid before the Ghurch in Order by Bro. Richard Sharp against Boyds Nenes for Disobediance to his Master and absconding himself from his Business in Consequence of which he is Excluded from our Communion. On a Difficulty arising in the Church at Davids Fork with Bro. John Quesenberry on account of parting with his Wife, after fully Examining into the Business we are of Oppinion that as She has by a Letter Express'd a desire to return again to him and Family, that Bro. Quesenberry receive her, and that Bro. John Mckensey assist in this very Important Business and report to our next meeting.

Bren. Wm. Grant Junr. & Albert Brite are requested to see Sister Rachel Hutsel Alias Tilley and converse with her concerning her removing from among us without applying for a Letter of Dismission and report to our next meeting.

Bro. Darnabeys Joshua was accused of attempting the act of uncleanness with a woman which he confess'd and in consequence of his repentance he is restored and reproved before all. Then Adjourn'd.

in July 1802 after prayer to God for his Blessing proceded to business as follows.

Bro. John Kckensey reported that Bro. John Quesenberry and his Wife had again agreed to live together Bro. Quesenberry came forward and on his Confession and agreeing to try to live with her as his wife he is continued in fellowship with admonishment.

Recd. Polley Ransdale & Smiths Sarah for Baptism.

A motion from our meeting in May referr'd to this meeting to fall on some plan to make Enquiry concerning the keeping up the worship of God in our families &c. Taken up and agreed that our Moderator make a publick inquiry of our Brethren at this meeting in a Singular manner and at future meetings at his discretion.

agreed that Wednesday the 28th of this month be set apart for a Publick day of Thanksgiving to Almighty God for his great Blessings granted to us as a Church & to pray for a continuation of his Special mercies.

Agreed to come prepared to our Next meeting to raise our Church Fund.

Bro. Brite made report concerning Sister Hutsell, which is Satisfactory. Our Bren. Ambrose Dudley & John Mason produced a letter to our associa­tion which was approv'd and our Bren. Ambrose Dudley, Leonard Young, Bartlett Collins & John Mason are chosen our Messengers to Sd. Association.

Trotters Fanney for Baptism and Polley Buford by Letter. Bro. Tilman Camper was accused before the Church of disorderly conduct in Lexington and geting angry when convers'd with concerning Sd. Conduct a dicision on the Case is pospon'd untill our next Meeting. Then Ad.journ'd.

Recd. into our Church Stock 21s, 9d which makes the whole amount £10, 12s, 9d and was put into the hands of our Deacons.

Recd. Campers Ben, Kensey Hardister, Thrustons Lyda, Salley, Brady, Wm. Dudleys Jem, Ellin Headington for Baptism. On Settlement with our Deacons the Church fall is in their debt £ 1, 4s, 2d.

The Church took up the matter referr'd from last meeting in regard to Bro. Tilman Camper and he not attending is Excluded from our Union. Then Adjourn'd.

On a complaint against Bro. Robert Chowning for drinking Spiritous Liquors to Excess Bro. Benjamin Martin is requested to Cite him to attend our next meeting to answer to Sd. Complaint.

On a Complaint made against Bro. Zachariah Clark for drunkenness, Striking to fight & Dancing, Bren. Albert Brite & Wm. Grant Jur. are requested to cite him to attend our next meeting. Then adjourn'd.

A complaint lodg'd against Bro. Zachariah Clark last meeting taken up on Sattisfactory Evidance of his refusing to come to our meeting he

Brethren Julious Clarkson & John Bristo are appointed to request Bro. Richard Stewart who had a letter from this Church and has not given it up to attend our next meeting to give his reasons for the same.

Bro. Ovid Boon came before the Church, acknowledged he had drank too much Spirituous Liquor and got Overtaken with anger & on his Confessing his fault he is continued in our Union.

On a Conplaint against Bro. Thomas Rains for Swearing &c. Bro. Archi­bald Holtzclaw is requested to cite him to our next meeting. Bro. Robt. Chewnings case referr'd to our next meeting. Then Adjourn'd.

At a Church meeting held at the .meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in December 1802 after prayer to God for his Blessing proceded to business as follows.

The Case of Bro. Richard Stewart refer'd to next meeting. On Bro. Robet. Chewning refusing to attent our meeting after being cited Twice he is Excluded from our Communion. Bro. Thomas Rains after being cited to attend this meeting on his failing to appear he is Excluded from our Fellowship. Bro. Richard Tomlinson came before the Church and informed them that there was a contradiction between him and Several of the Bren. respecting a letter wrote by Bro. Elijah Craig to this Church, we are of oppinion that he acted improperly and is guilty of misconduct and the Business is refer'd to next meeting.

Agreed that we take into consideration the manner of bringing cases of Dicipline into the Church at our next meeting.

Our Clerk is directed to give a letter of Dismission to Linsfield Sharp & his Wife Elisabeth Sharp. Then Adjourn'd.

in January 1803 after prayer to God for his Blessing proceded to business as follows.

Recd. James Hammons, Winney Harmons, Hannons's Negro woman Letty, & Howards Peter by letter.

Agreed that all cases of Dicipline be laid before the Church at our Saturday monthly meetings and acted upon as she may think proper.

The case of Bro. Richard Tomlinson refer'd to this meeting was taken up and on his confessing his faults he is continued in fellowship on being reproved before all.

Bro. John C. Richardson Lodg'd a complaint against Bro. Ric'd Tomlinson for certain Errors in his conduct in the Tryal of some warrants before him in which there appear'd several contradictions for which Bro. Tom­linson was admonished and continued.

Bro. George Bryan Lodg'd a complaint against Bro. Ric'd Tomlinson for saying at different times if he was fined for not attending a certain Muster, he never would muster on that ground again, he was fined & did afterwards muster on the same ground for which he was again reprov'd and continued. Bro. Elijah Tomlinson came before the Church acknowl­edged he had been drunk with Spiritous Liquor and on his confessing his fault and appearing to repent he is continued in our Union.

On a motion it is added to the rules of this Church that no member shall leave his seat while the Church is setting without leave from the Modera­tor. Agreed that our Deacons pay for the keeping of our meeting house the past year. Then Adjourn'd.

with anger, after being much abused that in his anger he had be­haved disorderly for which he confessed his fault and is continued in Union. Agreed that our Brethren Ambrose Dudley, Leonard Young, Bartlett Collins & John Mason be and they are hereby chosen to attend a Call meeting of the Society to be held at the Great Crossing meet­ing house on the Third Saturday in April next and that Brethren Am­brose Dudley & John Mason write a letter for this Church to Sd. Meet­ing and produce it to our next for Inspection. Then Adjourn'd.

Bro. John Darnabey brought a charge against his Negro man Joshua for telling him a falsity which he confest and is Consequently Excluded from our Union.

Bro. John C. Richardson brought an accusation against Bro. Tobias Pennington for frequently being charged with drinking Spirituous liquors to Excess & Bro. Pennington not being present Bro. Albert Brite is request­ed to Notifie him to attend our next meeting to answer the premisses. Bro. Ambrose Dudley brought an Accusation against his Negro woman, Daphney for the Sin of Adultry, referr'd &c.

Bren. Ambrose Dudley & John Mason produced a letter to the Church designed for the Association it was read and approv'd and Brethren Ambrose Dudley, Bartlett Collins, Leonard Young & John Mason are Chosen messengers to the association. Then Adjourn'd.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in August 1803 after prayer proceded to business as follows.

Tobias Pennington who was Charg'd last meeting with frequently drinking Spirituous liquors to Excess came before the Church and confessed the Charge and on his professing repentance for his faults he was reprov'd & admonished for his conduct & Continued in fellowship.

Bro. Ambrose Dudley brought an Accusation against Graves's Bristo for the Sin of Adultry which he confest to Bro. Dudley to be true & in Consequence thereof he is Excluded from our Union. The Case of Bro. Ambrose Dudley's Daphney Charged with the sin of Adultry was laid be­fore the Church which was prov'd to Satisfaction in consequence of which she is Excluded from our Union.

George Rogers's Wiggin was accused before the Church of the sin of Adultry which he confest and for the same is Excluded from our Union. Then Adjourn'd.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in September 1803 after prayer proceded to business as follows.

Bren. John Pickitt & George Hunt reported that they had cited Bro. Pressly Jones to attend this meeting to answer a complaint against him for not attending our Stated meetings for Several months past, he not appearing the same Brethren are requested to cite him to our next meeting.

Bren. Hiram Mitchel of South Elkhorn Church Complain'd against Bro. John Pickitt for Entering a Suit against him in Law Contrary to Gospel rule. Bren. Mitchel and Pickitt with a committe appointed by the Church with­drew & after Conversing on the Subject the parties got Satisfied.

Bro. Richard Sharp brought a complaint against Brother Ambrose Dudleys George for dissobediance, and Eloping from his business and attempting to cut his own throat in consequence of which he is Excluded from our Union.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the third Saturday in October 1803 after prayer preceded to business as follows. Bro. George Hunt reported that he had convers'd with Bro. Pressly Jones a Second time for his not attending our Stated meeting for a considera­ble time & his Still failing to attend today he is Excluded from our Communion. Recd. Sister Anna Oliver by letter.

Bro. Wharton Ransdale lodg'd a complaint against Chinns Malborough for finding fault with the proceedings of the Church & Bro. Elijah Ransdale is requested to cite him to attend our next meeting to answer the Same. Agreed that we meet at Eleven OClock at our Stated Monthly meeting to go on business. Bren. Leonard Young & Asa Tompson are requested to Converse with Bradfords Sam & Ransdales Daniel on some dissatisfaction they have against some of the procedings of the Church & Cite them to attend our next meeting. On a complaint made against Howards Cloe for running away from her Masters business agreed that She be Excluded from our Union. Bro. Henry Roach reported against Bro. Henry Ellis for not attending our meetings & wishing his Name to be Struck out of our Book. Bren. Roach & Darnaby to cite him to attend our next meeting.

Our Clerk is directed to give a letter of Dismission to Bro. Thomas Camper. Our deacons are directed to pay the amount of Costs &c. obtain'd against our Brethren Wm. Dudley & Leonard Young for trying to Suppress Persons for Selling Liquors &c. at our last June Meeting. Bro. Frances Smith complain'd against Higgins Hannah for runing away from her business &c. which on her confession & appearing to repent she is continued in

At a church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in November 1803 after prayer preceded to business as follows. Bren. Leonard Young & Asa Tompson reported that they had convers'd with Bradfords Sam whose case appear'd hopefull but as he cant attend today his case is referrd to next meeting. also the Same Bren. reported they had convers'd with Ransdales Daniel, he came forward and gave Satisfaction. Bren. Henry Roach & John Darnaby reported that they had convers'd with Bro. Henry Ellis & Cited him to attend this meeting on his not attending Bren. Ambrose Dudley, Leo'd Young & John Mason are requested to converse with him & make report to our next meeting.

Bro. Leonard Young reported that a young Woman came before him, a Jus­tice of the peace for this County and made Oath that Ric'd Tomlenson had commited a rape upon her in consequence of which he is Excluded from our Communion.

Bro. John Darnaby reported that Harts Stephen had bought a pack of play­ing cards and at Several times had used them in playing in Consequence of which he is Excluded from our Union.

Chinns Malborough came before the Church and confessed his faults & is continued on a reproof. Recd. Sarah Patterson by letter.

Recd. into our Church Stock £2, 13s, 3d making in the whole £13, 18s, 3d. Bro. John Darnaby Inform'd the Church that it was publickly reported that Sister Polley Power was in a Pregnant State, consequently our Sisters Forbus, Bradburn & Old Sister Power are requested to see & Converse with her on the subject & report to our next meeting also Cite her to attend. Then adjourn'd.

Sisters Forbus, Bradburn & Old Sister Power reported that they had convers'd with Sister Polley Power that She gave them no Satisfaction, they also Cited her to attend this meeting and on her not attending She is Excluded from our Union. Our Clerk is directed to give a letter of Dis­mission to Sister Winneford Hammonds & her Negro woman Letty.

Bro. John C. Richardson reported that Bro. Elijah Tomlinson has broken the laws of our Country in being accessory in conveying away a witness in a case of felony who came before the Church and confest the Charge in consequence of which he is Excluded from our Union.

Bro. Clifton Tompson reported that Delph a negro woman the property of Wm. Grubbs had run away from her Masters Business for which conduct She is Excluded from our Union.

Bro. John C. Richardson reported that Bro. Wm. Tomlinson had Broken the laws of our Country in being accessary to keep back a witness in case of Felony for which he is Excluded from our Fellowship.

At a church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in February 1804 after prayer proceded to business as follows.

Bro. Leonard Young recorded a complaint against Bro. Joseph Rogers for a difference he had with his Wife wherein he had accused her in Several cases of Embezzelling his property & Sending it to her Children, Bro. Rogers Confest he had got convinc'd that his accusations against her were groundless and on acknowledging his fault was admonish'd and restored. Recd. Jame[s] Alsop by letter & Darnabys Joshua from Exclusion.

Bro. John Darnaby reported that Harts Jonathan & Smiths Milley were guilty in Substance of the Sin of Adultery of which they had both been Suspected for several years and were both Notified to attend this meeting in consequence of which & their not attending they are both Excluded from our Union. Our trustees who Served us the last year is again approved for this year to see to the keeping of our meeting house &c. Then Adjournd

Bren. Jeremian Northcutt & Joseph Barby are requested to cite Sister Rachel Hutsel (now Tillery) to attend our next meeting to give her reasons for so long neglecting to attend our Stated meetings.

Brethren Northcutt & Barby reported that they had seen Sister Rachel Hutsel (now Tilley) had cited her to attend this meeting. She promis'd to attend if not providentially prevented, but as she has not attended her case is referr'd to our next meeting and that the same Bren. Make Enquiry into some Contradictory reports concerning her general conduct.

Recd. Henry Coons & David Thomas by letter. Our Clerk is directed to give letters of Dismission to Owins's Wm. & Barbary. Then Adjourned.

Sister Rachel Hutsel (now Tilley) came before the Church and gave Satisfaction for the Several complaints lodg'd against her and continued in our fellowship.

Francis Smith reported to the Church that Higgins Hannah had been guilty of wilfull lying which was made appear to the Sattisfaction of church for which she is Excluded from our Union. Then Adjourn'd.

Bro. Asa Tompson brought an accusation before the Church against five of our Black members for the Sin of adultry for which himself & Bro. Clif­ton Tompson had dealt with them & they all confest the facts, and were cited to attend this meeting To wit. Asa Tompsons John, Tim & Rose & Clifton Tompsons Simon & Tandys Letty and they all of them failing to attend are Excluded from our Union.

This day Settled with our Deacons and there appeared to be a ballance in their hands of £3, 7s, 3d.

On the motion of Bro. Asa Tompson for liberty to build a School house on the meeting house lott and that the Church have the use of it to put in Saddles in wet weather and to Set in when the weather is cold. Bro. Jepthah Dudley wrote to Bro. Joshua Headington on the Subject of his Joining a Free Mason Lodge which Bro. Headingtcn wrote him was a fact & Sent in his letter of Dismission. The Church will not fellow­ship her members who Join the free mason lodge. Consequently Bro. Ambrose Dudley with any Bren. he shall Choose are recuested to write to Bro. Headington again on the Subject, and the business is laid over untill our April meeting.

Agreed that we appoint Seven of our Brethren Commissioners to let the Building of a Brick meeting house at Bryans fifty feet long, and forty feet wide from out to out and Twenty feet high in the wall, and that they attend to the business untill it is completed, to Wit, Leonard Young, Asa Tompson, William Dudley, John Darnaby, John C. Richardson, Hezekiah Harrison and John Mason and that our Sd. Brethren sell our Old Meeting house at 6 months Credit after the finishing of the new meeting house and appropriate the money arising from the sale there of to the new, and any five of our Bren.
