Baptist News from the Ashland (KY) Area

      The First Baptist Church of Ashland has made great improvement on their building by rearrangement, added balcony and redecoration. They had fourteen additions to their church the first day of service after their improvements.

      Bro. Sam Branham has recently conducted a very successful meeting at the Fullerton Baptist Church.

      Rev. Clarence Walker of Lexington, Ky., is conducting a revival with the Second Baptist Church of Ashland where Rev. T. P. Simmons is pastor.

      The Fairview Baptist Church of Ashland has voted to go to full time preaching with Rev. Sam Branham as pastor.

      The Tri-State Baptist Ministers Meeting was held at the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church of Huntington, W. Va., recently with twenty-one Baptist ministers present. Pastor Norman Cox was a very congenial host.

      The Baptist message is being sent out over the new radio station (WCMI) of Ashland, Ky., every Sunday night by Pastor W. K. Wood of Pollard Baptist Church and every other Sunday morning by Dr. R. A. Herring of First Baptist Church. (10:45 A.M. and 8 P.M. Eastern Time.)

      Several Baptist churches of Ashland and nearby are planning Vacation Bible Schools this summer. They are proving great value to the church program.

      Rev. A. L. Outland of Olive Hill has been called to the Grayson Baptist Church for half-time. He will remain at Olive Hill for the other half-time.
