Dr. Paul G. Horner
Baptist Minister and Educator

Dr. Paul Gladstone Horner was born on December 24, 1905 to Dr. William W. and Mrs. Verna Olivia Van Nata Horner. He married Lillian Aileen Porter in 1937. He was a graduate of Georgetown College (KY) and the Southern Baptist Seminary with a Doctor of Theology degree. His Doctoral thesis in 1945 was entitled: "The place of miracles in the establishment of historical Christianity."

He and his wife had a son, Stephen G. Horner. Dr. Horner was a good preacher and a teacher and promoter of Campbellsville College when this editor attended there.

He served as interim pastor of the Campbellsville Baptist Church from July 1980 to March 1981.

Dr. Horner was especially kind to me and my family. He recommended me to a Baptist mission work in an adjacent county, which I served as pastor for over a year. He also tutored, tested and arranged for me to get credit for two Bible classes that I had taken in Bible College, so that I did not have to repeat them.

He died on April 29, 1983 at the age of 77. He is buried in Brookside Cemetery Campbellsville, Kentucky.
