Joseph Jackson Goadby (1828-1898) was a Baptist minister of Leicester. Rev. Goadby was the author of several books that include Bye-paths in Baptist History: a collection of interesting, instructive, and curious information, not generally known concerning the Baptist Denomination (London : Elliot Stock, 1871), Timely Words: being Fifteen Sermons, (London: 1869) and The Baptists and Quakers in Northhamptonshire: 1650-1700 (London, 1883).The above portrait of the Rev.
