Pastor Jimmie Bryan Davis

Bro. Jimmie Bryan Davis was born April 26, 1931, in Nauvoo, Alabama, one of nine children of the eighty-year marriage of Claude Bryan Davis and Lula Norris Davis.

Bro. Jimmie, as most people called him, was called to preach at age 16. He was pastor of Southside Baptist Church and Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Fulton for several years while serving as pastor of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Fayette, Alabama, for 58 years. He would preach at Mt. Lebanon at 8:30 on Sunday mornings and drive back to Fulton to preach at 11:00 a.m. He also shared the gospel of Christ on local radio and television broadcasts.

Bro. Davis preached in many Bible conferences and revival meetings. After retiring at the age of 85 years young, Bro. Jimmie still preached from time to time up until his death. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Tilden. While faithfully following the Lord's will in delivering the word of God, he still kept a big garden without one blade of grass in it. Bro. Jimmie married the love of his life, Betty Glover, in 1951, and together they had three loving daughters, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the age of 87.
