Resigns FBC, Waco, Texas

Baptist and Reflector , l899
On January 1st at the close of one of the ablest sermons of his life, Dr. B. H. Carroll tendered his resignation as pastor of the First Baptist Church, Waco, Texas. He will devote himself to the task of raising two hundred thousand dollars for the educational commission of Texas, in conjunction with his brother, J. M. Carroll. Dr. Carroll has been pastor of the First Church, Waco, for twenty-seven years. Under his ministry the church has grown to be one the most powerful and influential churches in Texas or in the South. Dr. Carroll is recognized all over this continent as one of the greatest pulpit orators In the land. We hope that the new work to which he sets his heart and hand will be abundantly successful, and that his last years may be his best years.
