L. W. Carlin (1895-1977) was a graduate of the West Kentucky Bible School in Murray, KY and the Hall-Moody College in Martin, TN. He pastored numerous churches in Kentucky and Tennessee including the Bellview Baptist Church in Paducah, KY for a total of 37 years. He was instrumental in the establishment of the West Kentucky Baptist Bible Institute (now Mid-Continent University) in 1949 and was one of the first teachers at the school
