Ronald Wayne Camp
Baptist Pastor, Editor and Missionary

      Bro. Wayne Camp was born 24 January 1938 to Willie and Hazel Camp in Pastoria (Jefferson County), Arkansas. He was married to Ruth Ann Martin; and they had four sons, Tim, Mark, Neil and Ron.

      After his conversion he attended the American Baptist Association College and Seminary in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he received several degrees, including a Theology doctoral degree.

      He was a powerful preacher and always well-prepared. He understood Baptist theology and preached it forcefully in the Bevery Manor Baptist Church, Washington, Illinois and in the Pilgrim's Hope Baptist Church in Memphis Tennessee. While pastoring in Illinois his church established the Illinois Baptist College. He was editor of The Grace Proclamator and Promulgator monthly paper.

      Bro. Camp also pastored a church in the Memphis, Tennessee area.

      He later became a missionary to Thailand. He established and taught in a Baptist school for preachers in Chiang Mia, Thailand. He and his wife lived in Thailand for several years.

      He died 17 June, 2015 at the age of 77 in Brighton (Tipton County), Tennessee. He was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pine Bluff, (Jefferson County), Arkansas.

      His widow, Ruth Ann Martin Camp, was born on February 16, 1939 and died on February 10, 2020 at the age of 80. She was buried beside her late husband.
