David B. Brasher
Baptist Minister of West Kentucky

David was born August 2, 1938 and died December 27, 2013 at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie Clark, Sr. and Nellie Brown Brasher.

He was married to Carolyn Phillips Brasher, of Benton, KY; they had one son and one daughter. His brother C.C. Brasher was also a Baptist pastor. Bro. David was ordained by the Friendship Baptist Church in Livingston County in 1959; he pastored eleven different Baptist churches in west Kentucky, then after his retirement in 2004 he was interim pastor for six additional Baptist churches. While pastoring he held numerous revival meetings in nine different states.

David was a graduate of Livingston Central High School and obtained a Bible Studies Degree from Mid-Continent Baptist Bible College. Bro. Brasher's firm commitment to conservative Baptist doctrine and love for evangelism were important in his ministry. In 1965 he wrote an editorial to the Western Recorder, the Kentucky Baptist state paper entitled "What Makes a Church New Testament?" He wrote in essence: The Baptists of today are the only churches that contend for all the teachings found in the teachings of the first New Testament church.
