      It is stated that one day while walking with Dr. James P. Boyce, Rev. A. S. Ingram asked him if he believed in Baptist church succession. He replied: "If by Baptist church succession you mean that there have existed since the days of Christ and his apostles churches holding substantially the doctrines now held by Baptist churches, then I believe it."
