John S. Fisher
Scottish Baptist HistorianBorn among gypsies and travelling showmen, and educated at Huish's Grammar School, Taunton, John Fisher entered the civil service in Whitehall and held posts in the Home Office and in the Employment Service in London, Avon, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire churches and lay pastor of a ninth. His present membership is at Kinmylies, Inverness. He is a member of the Baptist Historical Society, the author of two church histories and a contributor to The Baptist in Scotland. He became president of the Northern Baptist Association in 1995.
