The 76th Annual Session was held with the First Baptist Church Covington, Ky., on the 11, 12, & 13, days of September 1878.The Annual Sermon was preached by W. H. Felix, from the Epistle of Jude, 3rd verse.
J. A. Kirtley, was chosen Moderator and S. P. Brady, Clerk.
Elkhorn, Concord, Campbell County, Union, Laughery and Crittenden Associations were present.
Dr. B. Manly, J. M. Frost, Jr., Ensebino Kirtley, C. J. Bagby, T. D. Ware, W. W. Tinker, A. M. Vardiman, A. Stout, Ministers, attended as Messengers and V. E. Kirtley as Agent for "Southern and Indian Missions."
Reports were made on Foreign Missions, Southern and Indian Missions, Sunday Schools, Denominational Literature and Obituaries. Number of Churches 13, Baptized daring the year 136, total membership 1,411.
The 77th Session was held with the Church at Florence, Boone Co., on the 10, 11, and 12, days of September 1879.
The Annual Sermon was preached by J. A. Kirtley. Text Galatians 2:20.

The reading of the History of the First Baptist Church Covington, Ky., was called for. Bro. W. H. Felix, who was appointed last year to write the history, reported that he had failed to write, from the fact that the principal portion of the records of the church were lost. On motion Bro. Felix was reappointed to prepare the history to be read at the next annual meeting of the Association, with the understanding that if the records could not be found for the history, to write a "Circular Letter" and to have the privilege of choosing his own subject.
Reports were made on Foreign, Domestic, Indian and Associational Missions, Sunday Schools and Obituaries. W. H. Felix, C. G. Skillman, J. A. Kirtley, J. M. Bent, A. M. Vardiman, J. S. Kirtley and R. E. Kirtley, each preached during the session.
The 78th Session was held with the Oak Ridge Church, Kenton County, on the 8, 9, and 10 days of September l880.
A. M. Vardiman preached the annual sermon Text, Mark 13:34.
Of the Associations with whom we correspond, only two were represented. Ten Mile and Campbell county. The History of the First Baptist Church Covington, Ky., by W. H. Felix, was read, adopted, and ordered to be published in connection with the minutes of the Association.
It was moved that some brother be appointed by private ballot, to preach a sermon on Missions at the next annual meeting of the Association and the hour of 11 o'clock, on the second day be the time. A. M. Vardiman, was chosen to preach the sermon, W. H. Felix, alternate.

Schools, Orphans Home, Educational, Denominational Literature and Obituaries.A public collection was taken for the benefit of the Baptist Orphans Home, Louisville, Ky., amounting to $103.

On motion W. H. Felix, J. M. Bent, R. E. Kirtley, A. J. Morris and J. C. Riley, were appointed a committee to draft a Constitution and Order of business, to report at the next annual meeting of the Association.
The 79th Annual Session was held at Sand Bend [Run] Church, on the 7, 8 and 9, day of September 1881.
The Annual Sermon was preached by J. S. Kirtley, Text Romans 12:1-2.

Concord, Campbell County and Laughery Associations represented. Visiting ministers invited to seats. J. W. Warder, corresponding Secetary of General Association of Ky, E. N. Dicken, from Bethel Association, and A. C. Caperton, from Louisville were reported present.
The Committee appointed at last Session to draft a Constitution and Order of business presented a form of each, which were read and adopted.
The history of Burlington Baptist Church written by A. M. Vardiman, was read, adopted and ordered to be printed. At 11 o'clock on second day, according to appointment, A. M. Vardiman preached a sermon on missions. Immediately following, the report on Baptist Orphans Home was read and a collection taken for the benefit of the "Home," amounting to $92.
The following ministers not named above preached during the session viz: E. N. Dicken, G. M. Shott, J. V. Riley, J. W. Warder and A. C. Caperton.
The 80th Annual Session was held with the Baptist Church at Walton, Boone County, on the 6, 7 and 8, days of September 1882.
R. E. Kirtley preached the Introductory Sermon, subject; "The Church Universal."

Concord, Elkhorn, Ten Mile, Campbell County, Laughery and Crittenden Associations were represented. The History of Big Bone Church written by J. A. Kirtley, completed up to May 1853, was read and reported to a committee, who recommended its adoption, and to be published in the minutes and that the writer be continued to finish the history to report next year.
The eighth Article of the Constitution was amended so that two members from each church and the ministers of the association shall constitute the Executive Board.
Also, that at each annual meeting the body shall appoint time and place for holding a ministers and deacons meeting, and appoint a committee to assign subjects and writers for the meeting, said committee shall report in time for the publication of their report in the minutes.
The Annual Sermon on missions was preached by W. H. Felix, on the second day of session at 11 o'clock, from Romans 2:14-15.
At the close of the sermon, the report on Baptist Orphans Home was read and after speeches by E N. Dicken and W. H. Felix, a collection was taken for the benefit of the Home, amounting to $90, in cash. and $155 pledged by the churches to be paid during the year.

report of the Executive Board, we see that $489. was raised for mission work.The 81st Session was held with the Church at Bullittsburg, on the 5, 6 and 7 days of September 1883.
The Introductory was preached by E. N. Dicken from Acts, 17:11.

At 11 o'clock, on the second day A. M. Vardiman, preached the annual sermon on Missions, and immediately following the report on Orphans Home was read, and a public collection for that object was taken amounting to $100. Raised for German Mission in Covington this year, about $500. Reports were made and discussed on the usual objects claiming the attention of the body.
The following visiting ministers were present and participated in the meeting viz: A. C. Caperton, A. C. Graves, Ensebino Kirtley, F. W. Carney, G. Coopman. J. C. Riley, L. Johnson, A. C. Davidson, W. W. Tinker, and A. G. Loving.
The 82th, Annual Session was held with the Dry Creek Church, on the 10, 11, and 12, days of September 1884.
The Introductory was preached by G. Coopman, from Luke 24:46-47.

The Baptist Church at Beaver Lick, was received into union and fellowship with this Association.
Elkhorn, Ten Mile, Campbell County, Langhery and Bracken Associations were represented.
The History of Bank Lick, to have been written by A. L. Vickers was called for, Brother Vickers reported that in consequence of his failing to get certain facts and records essential to the history, he was unable at this time to report the completion of the work assigned him. The writer was continued and Brother L. Johnson was requested to assist him, to report at the next meeting of the Association.
The Annual Sermon on Missions was preached by J. A. Kirtley, from Isaiah 2:2-3. Amount raised for Orphans Home this year, in cash and pledges $225.95, raised for German Mission in Covington, about $600. The following ministers were present, many of whom preached and participated in the discussion on the various subjects before the Association, viz: J. W. Warder, W. P. Harvey, S. H. Morgan, C. G. Skillman, L. Johnson, C. J. Bagby, W. W. Tinker, J. J. Felix, A. C. Caperton, W. W. Harvey and R. P. Wilson. Number of churches 14, baptized during the year 60, the year previous 186, total membership 1,511.
The 83rd, Session was held with the Baptist Church at Bellevue, on the 9, 10 and 11, days of September 1885.
The Introductory by E. L [N]. Dicken, from Acts 2:47, he being alternate, brother W. H. Felix, who was appointed last year not being present.

The Baptist Church at Independence, Kenton County, received into union and fellowship with this body.
Concord and Bracken Associations represented. On second day of session, E. N. Dicken preached the annual sermon on missions from Acts 14:3.
Raised for Orphans Home tills year in cash and pledges, $256. Raised for German Mission In Covington, about $598.
A resolution was adopted recommending the History of Kentucky Baptist, by J. H. Spencer, a work of two large volumes of near 700 pages each, for the low price of five dollars, urging that Pastors lay the matter before their respective churches and urge their membership to subscribe for the work.
The History of Bank Lick Church was again called for, the writer Bro A. L. Vickers reported not ready and was continued until next year. The following ministers were present as messengers and visitors, W. B. Riley, A. M. Vardiman, J. S.

The Introductory was preached by W. O. Baily, of the first Baptist Church Covington Ky., from the 5th verse of the 74 Psalm.

R. E. Kirtley, and the Deacon of Big Bone Church were appointed a committee on divine worship.
The history of Bank Lick Church was called for, brother L. Johnson, who had been requested to assist A. L. Vickers in the work presented and read the history so far as he had been able to progress, which was adopted and a vote of thanks was tendered to brother Johnson. A. L. Vickers in conjunction with A. J. Morris, M. F. Morris and Robert Stephens, were appointed to complete the history and report next year.
The annual sermon on Missions was preached by R. E. Kirtley from Rev. 22:17 "And the Spirit and the Bride Say Come."
The collection for Orphans Home in cash and pledges amounted to $248 for this year.
We collect the following from the report on missions. Regretting that it seems inexpedient to attempt further to buy or build In Covington, we recognize that brother Coopman's resignation renders it necessary to rearrange our missionary work, and agreed to co-operate with the General Association of Ky., with the understanding that all funds raised by the churches during the associational year be equally divided except designated funds, between district, state, foreign and homo missions. The Sunday School and Colportage fund to be equally divided between the district board and the state board.
The report of the Treasurer, J. W. Walker shows that about $600 was paid by the churches for the German Mission work in Covington during the past year.

The 85th Session was held with the Baptist Church at Burlington on the 7, 8 and 9, days of September 1887.
J. H. Butler, Pastor of Madison Avenue Church Covington, Ky., preached the Introductory sermon, Text 1st Peter 3:15.

The Deacons of the church and J. H. Fullilove their Pastor were appointed a Committee on Divine worship.
The Baptist Church at Union, Boone county was received into union and fellowship with this Association.

The history of Bank Lick Church, continued from last year was read and referred to a committee, the committee after making some amendments reported it back recommending its adoption.
J. H. Fullilove preached the Annual Sermon on Missions from Acts 13:2 "Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them." Contributed for Orphans Home in cash and pledges $278.
Contributed for Missions during the year $780.82.
Delegates were appointed to attend the General Association of Kentucky and the Southern Baptist Convention.

Ten Mile, Campbell County and Crittenden Associations represented. The history of Madison Avenue Church, Covington Ky., written by R. F. McGill, was read and reported to a committee, to report on the ensuing day. The committee made the following report:
That we would recommend that brother R. T. McGill be requested to furnish the history as read, to brother J. H. Butler and that he be requested to prepare a condensed history of the church for presentation next year, and also that the thanks of this body be tendered to brother McGill for his care and labor in preparing the history so far as read.
A. L. VICKERS, Chairman Committee. The Annual Sermon on missions was preached by A. L. Vickers, from Luke 24:48.
After the sermon, the report on Baptist Orphans Home was read and after remarks by A. C. Davidson and W. P. Harvey, a collection for the benefit of the "Home" was taken amounting in the aggregate in cash and pledges to $279.
The following was adopted:
RESOLVED. That we recommend to the churches in their letters to the Association, the subject matter be confined mainly to statistical information.RESOLVED. That all church histories shall in the future, be limited to ten pages of our minutes, of which not more than six pages shall be published any one year unless the cost is provided for by special contributions.
Reports were made on Baptist Ministers Aid Society, Education, Sunday Schools, Executive Board and Colportage Work.
From Treasurer's report of Executive Board is the following:

The Constitution and Order of Business as printed in the minutes of 1885, were read and amended by adding two committees, one on Ministers Aid Society and one on Temperance and again amended thus - "This Association shall be composed of brethren chosen by the churches, on the basis of four messengers to each church having fifty members or less, and one additional messenger to every fifty members or fractional part thereof." The following was read and adopted: "That the reading of church history be referred in the future to a special committee and not be read before the association."The Annual Sermon on missions was preached by J. H. Fullilove, from Matthew 28:19.
The report on Orphans Home was read and after remarks by Joseph Hodge a collection was taken, amounting in the aggregate in cash and pledges, to be paid during the year, to $317.84.
Reports were made on Temperance, Education, Denominational Literature, Ministers Aid Society and Sunday Schools.
Treasurer's report of Executive Board, shows that $1,264. had been raised for missions during the year.
