At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans Third Saturday in January 1791. After prayer & Supplication to Almighty God. Bren. Vincent Self & John Barnett came before the Church & acknowledg'd they had given themselves members to a Church not in Union with us, after some time Spent in Labouring with Sd. Bren. Bro. Barnett craved of the Church longer time for Consideration, which was granted, Bro. Vincent Self Justifying himself in his disorderly manner of withdrawing from the Church. The Church are of Oppinion that our Once Bro. Vincent Self has dispised the Government of the Church and has gone out from us in a disorderly manner & so Consequently is Excluded from our Union.

The Church are of Opinion that Sentance should be only proclaim'd at the time of Excommunicating, Recd. for Baptism, William Quesenberry. Then Dismist.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans Third Saturday in April 1791. After prayer to Almighty God for his divine Blessing. Recd. Ansalem Ciarkson & Ann his Wife. Sarah Rogers and a Negro by the Name of Jerrery Belonging to Mr. Clifton Thomson. Likewise a Negro man named Ned & Negro woman by the Name of Phillis, as the property of Levi Todd, by Letter & Examination. At the request of a Number of Baptist Brethren living near the mouth of Green Creek for helps to attend with them on the fourth Saturday in this month to look into their Standing and Stability for a Constitution, Bren. Ambrose Dudley & John Mason are appointed for that purpose. On a motion being made the Church have appointed the Second Sunday in Each month for Publick Worship at the meeting house on Davids fork. The Deacons are directed to purchase Two locks for the use of the gates on the fence round the meeting house at Bryans. A motion made that the Church take Brother Monro's gift into Consideration, referr'd till Next meeting at this place. Then Dismist.

Took into consideration a referrance from last meeting at this place respecting Bro. Monros's Gift, The Church are of Opinion that Bro. Monro's Gift is hepefull, and that he be still Continued on Tryall. Recd. Tobias Bright by Experiance for Baptism and Elizabeth Stephenson, Jane Bright, and Elenor Bright by Letter and Examination. Sister Frances Barnaw requests a Letter of Dismission by the hand of Sister Rankin. The Clark is directed by the Church to give our Sd. Sister a Letter accordingly.

The Church took up the matter respecting Bro. John Barnetts disorderly departure from us, he the Sd. Barnett Continuing to Justifie himself therein in Consequently Excluded from our Communion, Then Dismist.

In Consequence of a meeting appointed at Bro. Albertas Brights fourth Saturday in June. Examined and Baptised William Vineyard. Querry from last meeting whether perpetual Slavery is Consistant with Christianity and the Gospel of Christ or not. Taken up and debated and still remaining a Querry it is finally agree'd to be sent in our letter to our next association. Bren. Benjamin Robertson, Joseph Robertson, Richard Mitchell, George Hume, & George Hunt are appointed to act as Clarks in setting Tunes in singing the praises of God in publick Worship. Then Dismist.

Recd. for Baptism Martin, a Negroe Man belonging to Bro. Wm. Smith. The Church have agreed that Bro. Wm. E. Waller is Recd. in his Office as a Minister to officiate in administering the Ordinances of the Gospel when ever Caled On by this Church Or where ever the Lord Shall Call him to that Work. On a Request from the B. Crossing for helps to be sent there on a difficult matter On the first Satterday in August Next the Church have

Recd. a Letter from Tates Creek Church for helps to be sent on Request of a few Breths. Living near Strouds Station in Order to Take in Considiration wheather they are Sufficient for a Constitution the Church do hereby appoint Bros. Ambrose Dudley & William E. Waller to attend the Call at Strouds Station Second Wednesday in this Month. The Church has apointed Bro. Ambrose Dudley, John Mason, William E. Waller to attend te depending Association at Coopers Run Meating house Also appointed Bros. Ambrose Dudley, John Mason to prepare the Church Letter. Then Dismist.

At a meeting Call'd for Dicipline at the Meeting house at Bryans Third urday in August 1791. After prayer to Almighty God. Bro. Alexander Monroe made report that he had Notified Bro. Amos Miller to appear this day before this Church to answer a Complaint Lodg'd against him. Sd. Miller failing to attend the Church are of oppinion that on account of Disorderly Departure from us he be Excluded from our Communion. Then Dismist.

A referrance from last meeting respecting Bro. Alexander Monroes Gift Taken up and Considered the Church unanimously approve of his gift and on his being Examined do Consequently Lisence him to preach the Gospel where ever God in his providence shall call him. On information that Sister Self has given her membership to a Church not in our Union, Bren. John Mason and Leo'd Young are requested to see and Endeavour to reclaim her and make report to our Next meeting this place. Recd. Leonard Young made report that agreeable to his appointment he has convers'd with Sister Self, who requests that the Church may wait on her till Next meeting at this Place which is agreed to accordingly.

On a motion that Bro. Sam, Now the property of Major Hall have Liberty to Exercise a Gift of Exhortation, Agreed that Sd. Bro. have liberty to appoint meetings and Exercise in the Church on Triall.

In Information that Mr. John Rogers's James a member of this Church hath

Receiv'd for Baptism Sally Grymes & Smiths Ned, on a request of the Church on Stodes Fork, for helps to assist them in the Examination and Ordination a Miinister on Wednesday before the fourth Saturday in October. Bren. Ambrose Dudley & Wm. E. Waller is appointed accordingly.

Querry is Baptism Valid or not when Adminisstered (on profession of Faith) a Pedobaptist Minister, refer'd.

A motion made that the Church take up the matter respecting the Gift of Exhortation. Refer'd. Then Dismist.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house on Davids Fork First Saturday in November 1791, after prayer to Almighty God preceded to Business. The Minutes of our last Assosiation were read and approved of Except the advice given to the Baptist people at the Crossing which we think unconstitutional. The Church after Considering (as above) the disorderly Standing of Mr. Joseph Reading in our Society are Unanimously of Opinon that he be not Encouraged in his present Standing by us.

On a request from Tates Creek Church for helps to attend on the business of Ordination on the fourth Saturday in this month at their meeting house, the Church have agreed to send Bren. Ambrose Dudley & Henry Roach accordgly. Then Dismist.

Ambrose Dudley & Henry Roach at Tates Creek Church Next Saturday to assist them in the business of Ordination. Then Dismist.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house on Davids Fork first Saturday In February 1792. After prayer to Almighty God proceeded to Business as Follows.

On a motion made to revise the proportion for Defraying the Expenses of repairing the meeting house at Bryans. Agreed that Bren. Benjamin Martin and John Darnaby be added to those Bren. before appointed for that purpose and that they make report to our Next meeting at Bryans. A motion made to form a plan for proportioning Expences to be paid by the Church in future. Agreed that a certain Number of Bren. be appointed by the Church from time to time to proportion on the Male Members according to their profitable property.

Agreed that the Lord's Supper be administered Once in Two months. Agreed that Bren. Leonard Young, John Darnaby, Sam C. Bryan, John Mason, Richard Mitchell, & Wm. Ellis Junr. be appointed to Levy Six pounds on the Church for the purpose of purchaseing Wine for the present year.

Querry from last meeting, is it Consistant with the word of God for a Church to hear Experience and to receive Persons for Baptism without a proper Administrator present.

Answer'd Not Consistant. Recd. John Yates for Baptism on certain Information that our Sister Oaney Hailey (Alias Bush) has joined a Church not in Union with us, she is Consequently out of our Communion.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans 2nd Day of August 1792 for Dicipline after prayer to Almighty God for his Divine Blessing proceded to Business as follows.

John C. Richardson inform'd the Church that in Consequence of some words Inadvertantly spoken by him Concerning some Conduct in Mr. Howards Family he was assaulted by Mr. Benjamin Howard who Struck him Several times and that he did strike Sd. Mr. Howard in a Defensive way, for which Bro. Richardson gave the Church Satisfaction by Confessing his faults.

Cate a Negro woman the property of Bro. Jos. Rogers was brought before the Church and accused of Setting fire to a house and absconding herself from her Masters Business which accusations she Confest and is Consequently Disfellowship'd by us.

Moors Cornelious was brought before the Church and accused with many Disorders

in his Conduct towards women and unchaste conversation and appearing Censorious before the Church, he is in Consequence thereof Dissfellowship'd by us. Then Dismist.

Querry whether Church nnsmbers are at liberty to Chastise their Children or Servants who are members with them in Christian Society. Referr'd.

Richardson brought an accusation against Ben, a black Bro. the property of Mr. Buck for his disorderly Conduct with a woman not his Wife, together with other disorders, after Enquireing into the matter, the Church are of Opinion that he is guilty and Consequently he is Excluded from our Communion.

Also a Charge by Bro. Richardson against a Black Sister by the Name of Ruth the property of Mr. Nailer, for her disorderly Conduct of falshood, Quarrelling, fighting, and theft, after Duly Considering the matter, it appears to the Church that she is guilty in Consequence of which sbe is Excluded from our Union. Bren. Ambrose Dudlejr, Wm. E. Waller, Henry Roach, and Leonard Young, produced a written answer to a Querry (referr'd) in what light do we view the first day of the week and how ought it to be observ'd.

1. We believe the first day of the week to be a day set apart by the Apostles and Anceant Christians to be regarded to the Lord in Consideration of the Lord Jesus finishing the great work of Redemption rising from the Dead, and resting from his work on that day, and as Such the Christians ever after, Continued to Observe it as appears through the New Testament In Consequence of which we Judge it binding on all Christians untill Christs Second Coming.

2. with respect to the Observance of the first day of the week we believe it ought to be regarded to the Lord, and that the whole of the Day Ought to be spent in religious Worship Either publick or private, such as reading

Singing, praying, preaching, and hearing the word of God, as our Situation will best admit of with religious conversation, to Exhort and provoke one another to love and good works, and that all our Worldly Business ought to be laid aside as much as possible in thought word and deed, Except works of Nesessity and Mercy, which is received by the Church as a Satisfactory answer to Sd. Querry.

Took up a matter of Distress against Sister Sarah Brown. A Committe was appointed by the Church to Enquire into Said Distress and reported as follows. We find upon Examination that our Said Sister Brown has parted from her husband and that she is now living with a Single man to the distress of her Sd. husband and that there is too much familiarity between her, and Sd. man in whose house she lives, such as his frequently combing her hair &c. and that she pointedly refused to live with her husband again although he appears to be very desirous she should return.

The report is receiv'd by the Church and our Sd. Sister Brown for her Disorders therein Contain'd is Excluded from our Communion.

In Consequence of a general meeting of regular and Separate Baptists to be held at Marble Creek Meeting house on the fourth Saturday in this Month for the desireable purpose of Endeavouring to bring about a Union we have Chosen our Beloved Bren. Ambrose Dudley & Alexander Monroe to represent us in Sd. Meeting and that Bro. Ambrose Dudley and John Mason write our letter for the same.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Davids Fork first Saturday in August 1793, after Divine Service proceeded to business as follows.

Recd. into our Church Fund 11s. which raises the whole amount to L17, 3s, 11d.

Querry from last meeting wheather Church sets in a Church way and makes rules or Enters into resolutions agreeable to her own Order, is it not finding on the whold. Answer'd, it is binding on the whole. Then dismist.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans Third Saturday in August 1793, after Prayer to Almighty God for his Divine Blessing proceeded to Business as follows.

Bren. Wm. Waller, Leonard Young & John Mason reported that they have Examined and Settled the business which respects our Church Fund, which report is Satisfactory. On a motion made, our Clark is directed in the Name of the Church, to give letters of Dismission to Sisters Elisabeth Mosby and Susanna Mosby (now Cave) as Orderly members with us.

In Consequence of an Order at our last meeting at this place Bro. Ambrose Dudley Invited Bro. John Price to attend this meeting to assist in an Enquiry into Bro. Alexander Monroes Call and Qualifications to the work of the Ministry, who accordingly attended, and proceeded with Bro. Ambrose Dudley And Bro. Wm. Waller into the Enquiry, who after mature Delebration are of Oppinion with the whole Church that Tomorrow be appointed a day of fasting and prayer to Almighty God, and that Brother Alexander Monroe be Ordain'd and fully Charg'd to the work of the Ministry.

Rec'd. into our Church Fund 6s. from one of our Trustees which raises the whole amount to L17, 9s, 11d. Then Dismist.

On a motion made agreed that a Subscribtion be forwarded for our Beloved Bro. and Pastor Ambrose Dudley for his Services for the present year, to be paid by the First day of January 1794.

Bren. Wm. Waller, Alexander Monroe, Leonard Young & John Mason are Chosen to represent us in the depending association, to be held at S. Elkhorn, and Bren. Wm. Waller & John Mason are appointed to write our letter. On a motion made our Clark is directed to give a letter of Dismission to Sister Rosamond Higgin (now Rogers) as an Orderly member with us. At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Bryans on the Third Saturday in October 1793, after prayer to Almighty God for his Divine Blessing proceeded to Business as follows. On the request of our Sister Church at Springfield for helps to assist in the Ordination of Deacons on the first Saturday in November, agreed that Bren. Henry Roach & Benjamin Robertson attend them accordingly.

Agreed that our Treasurer draw 6s. out of our Fund to assist in Printing the Minutes of our Association at South Elkhorn.

Bro. John Watts put 3s. into our Church Fund which raises the whole amount to L17, 12s, 11d. Then Dismist.

At a Church meeting held at the meeting house at Davids Fork on the first Saturday in November 1793 after prayer to Almighty God proceeded to Business as follows, on a request from the Church at Strodes Fork for helps to Ordain Bro. Reuben Smith to the work of the Ministry, on account of Difficulties, respecting Sd. Bro. Smiths Baptism agreed to Send no helps but that Bro. Dudley write a Friendly Letter to Sd. Church to inform them why they did not Send helps &c.

Querry, with whom did the reception of Members for Baptism rest in the Apostolic Day. Answer'd with the Apostles and Ministers.

Querry, how far did the Commission Given by our Lord and Master to his Diciples Extend, and with whom does it now rest. Answered, we believe that it Extended to the preaching of the Gospel and administration of the Ordinances of Baptism and the Lords Supper, and that it now Extends to the Ministers of the Gospel and will Continue with them till Christs Second coming. The Minutes of our last Association Came to hand and was read and that part of them that respects the Union with the Baptists that broke off from the South of Kentuckey Association was laid Over and Agreed to request our Next Association so far to reconsider that business as to give us farther Explanation and information relative to Sd. Union. Query by Bro. Joseph Robertson, what is the design of a Church and Extent of her power. Referr'd.

Bro. Richard Stewart requested a Letter of Dismission, our Clark is directed to give him one accordingly. Then Dismist.

Querry referr'd from last meeting what is the design of a Church and the Extent of her power.

Answer'd, the design of a Church is for the honour and glory of God, the Advancement of the redeemers kingdom in the world and the good of Gods Chosen people, and Secondly her power Extends to make any rule for her own Government consistant with the word of God, and to Exercise her power in the Dicipline of her members agreeable thereto.
