From the Northbend Baptist Association Minutes, September, 1870, p. 8:
REPORT ON OBITUARIES

Your Committee on Obituaries would report the death of our aged and much esteemed brother, Lewis Webb, who departed this life on the 10th of August, 1870. His history as a Baptist is intimately connected with that of the Association, having served that body as a Clerk from 1835 to 1864, embracing a period of 29 years. He was a member of Sand Run Church, and for many years served her as Clerk, Trustee and Deacon, with much acceptance. Our brother has served his day and generation, and we hope has fallen asleep in Jesus to awake in the better land, and received the home of the righteous, and the rewards of the just.
