We are happy to acknowledge our indebtedness to Mrs. Peter Ludlow, daughter of Dr. Stephen Gano, for a most deeply interesting autobiographic sketch of her lamented father, who was the son of Rev. John Gano, and whose history is associated with the struggles of the Revolution, and the origin of the Baptists in this country; and to announce that this narrative, lately discovered for the first time since his death, with a valuable addition by his daughter, and his portrait, will be forthcoming in the New York Chronicle; also a sketch and likeness of Dr. John Gano, and those of Dr. Manning , first president of Brown University.
