RESOLUTIONS ON DEATH OF DR. T. T. EATON The Elkhorn Association assembled at Silas Church desires to express its profound sorrow at the removal from us by death of the Rev. T. T. Eaton, D. D., L. L. D., editor of the Western Recorder, pastor of the Walnut Street Baptist Church, Louisville, Ky., and a trustee of Georgetown College. We wish to record our conviction that, in our judgment, he was a brilliant writer, an able expounder of the gospel, a fearless defender of the faith, a wise counselor, and a devout and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. He was untiring in his efforts to promote our Baptist Cause, and was always ready to defend it with his strong logic and accurate application of scripture. With the death of so great and good a man is a distinct loss to the denomination at large. We feel keenly his loss in our associational gatherings.
Resolved - That we pray God to raise up other mighty defenders of the faith.
Resolved-That we express our sincere sympathy with his great church and his sorely bereaved family.
May the God of infinite wisdom and grace, who doeth all things well, guide our lives and comfort our hearts.
Resolved - That a copy of these resolutions be sent the family and Western Recorder
HORACE W. COLEMAN,
B. F. SWINDLER.
